News & Updates

Thank you to everyone who came to the Steering Committee meeting on 29th August 2019 in the Steyning Centre. It was great to see a packed room and public debate about the best way forward for Steyning.

The main purpose of the meeting was to consider whether the draft plan and associated evidence be passed to Full Council with a recommendation to proceed to Regulation 14 Consultation. At the meeting the Steering Committee recommended to Full Council that the draft plan and its associated evidence proceed to consultation under Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) regulations 2012, but to exclude Local Green Space designations from it.

The plan is therefore being updated in line with this decision and the updated plan and relevant evidence will be considered by the Full Parish Council on Monday 2nd September 2019. If Full Parish Council approve the plan for consultation we hope to commence Regulation 14 Consultation at some point w/c 2nd September.

The documents will be published on the Parish Council’s website in due course at http://steyningpc.gov.uk/?page_id=43

The Steering Committee and Parish Council would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in the plan so far.

The Steering Group are meeting at 7:30pm on Thursday 29th August 2019 in the Steyning Centre. At this meeting the Steering Group will consider whether to recommend to Full Parish Council that the draft plan and associated evidence base proceed to Regulation 14 Consultation.

We invite the whole community to come along and listen to the discussions. Up to 15 minutes will be available at the start of the meeting to allow members of the public to make representations; (2 minutes per person) answer questions or give evidence in respect of any item of business in accordance with Standing Orders.
