I recently moved to Steyning in 2016 after my wife and I fell in love with the town. We have a 9 month old beautiful baby girl and a 2 year old cocker spaniel with whom I walk all over the Downs, National Park and surrounding areas. I am a member of the RIBA and ARB and practice as an Architect is Essex and London. I have many interests including; football, F1, cricket, travelling to name a few. I am involved in the neighbourhood plan because I think it is important that the community have control of the future of Steyning by seizing the opportunities that are available to us.

My husband and I have lived in Steyning for thirteen years. I served as a Parish Councillor from 2007 until 2015 and during that time was chair of two committees (Planning; Highways and Lighting). I'm a steward at Steyning Museum and enjoy working with the Steyning in Bloom volunteers. As a keen walker, I love exploring this wonderful area.

I am an experienced housing manager, having worked in social housing for over 30 years. Outside of work I'm a keen local sportsman, enjoy getting out into the local countryside and have an interest in sustainability.

I am recently retired after 40 years+ in the commercial insurance industry, working in the UK and Europe. I am married to Barbara, and we both enjoy living in the South Downs National Park area and Adur Valley through our love of walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits. Originally from Horsham, I have lived in Steyning for over 24 years and taken an active interest in a variety of local groups during that time. These include Steyning Strikers, with 4 years as Chairman, and as a Trustee of the Steyning Millennium Trust, supporting and encouraging some of the outstanding pupils at Steyning Grammar School.

With two grown up children living locally I have a keen interest in ensuring our town retains its unique place in Sussex life and culture and has a sustainable and bright future for the local population and commerce.

I have lived in Steyning for 18 years, arriving here two weeks after the birth of my younger son.  Steyning is a very special place, steeped in history and featuring buildings of every century since the Doomsday Book. I am passionate about ensuring that the town not only retains its unique architecture and character, but continues to thrive and attract people of future generations to live and work here. I see the development of the Steyning Community Plan as an ideal opportunity of shaping the town’s future in line with the needs and wishes of all it residents.

We moved to Steyning almost 15 years ago from South Africa with both sons graduating from the Grammar School and subsequent further education in their chosen field. I am a chartered construction professional and actively involved with the provision of infrastructure projects with 30 years experience in the delivery of Highways and the Built Environment both in the UK and abroad.

My wife and I have always supported the local school and community and nurtured our close proximity to the South Downs as a unique asset to the Town.

I'm recently semi retired and having lived here in Steyning for 31 years, I've seen it from both the perspective of newcomer and as a parent of two children. I'm a practicing specialist podiatrist working in the NHS. I enjoy walking on the downs, in the Wealden Woods and by the sea. My wife and I have an allotment. We enjoy travelling, but always love coming home. I try to play music in a band and enjoy motorcycling. Why am I involved in our community plan? Simply; Steyning is great and I want it to be great for newcomers and the people living here now.
